On a batted ball, the runner must avoid interfering with the fielder's attempt at fielding the ball.

If the ball is deflected by the pitcher, the runner must STILL allow another fielder the chance to field the ball, if that fielder is IN THE ACT of fielding (not chasing it).

If the ball is deflected by the pitcher or another fielder, the runner will NOT be called out if the ball hits him.

If the ball is deflected by the pitcher, the runner MUST see in front of him and not interfere with a fielder, otherwise he's out for interference.
